About Website Designing
In its simplest form, a web site is a
collection of HTML pages about a particular topic or of a
particular individual or company, hosted on the World Wide Web.
When we talk about designing a web site, essentially we mean
planning, assembling and putting together the fonts, images,
colors, layout and content of those pages.
While designing a website we must keep the following points in
mind:
A website must have appropriate and relevant content. The
information must be relevant and combined with the presentation
should be able to draw in the intended audience.
When it comes to website design, keep it simple to the maximum
extent possible. The website also be user friendly, bandwidth
friendly and reliable. The appearance of course is very
important. The graphics and the text must be in one single and
consistent style. The style must be relevant and professional
and should also suit the intended audience. The site must be
listed on search engines and be accessible through links or ads
on other sites.
A Web site consists of images and text. The first page is known
as the home page or index. Each web page is an HTML page and
has its own URL.
After a Web site is designed and created on a computer, it is
usually uploaded to a hosting service so that it can be viewed
over the internet. This is done using FTP services. Then
different techniques are formulated by the web master to
increase traffic to the website. This is done by submitting the
Web site to a search engine or a web crawler which helps to
exchange links with other websites.
We can also say that web designing is a process of
conceptualizing, planning, modeling and execution of electronic
media content. Websites displaying complex media such as vector
graphics, animations, videos and sounds usually take up a lot
of bandwidth, but are becoming the standard for a lot of web
site designers, simply because bandwidth is not such a scarce
commodity anymore.
Web site designing can be done by a single individual or by a
team consisting of artists, content developers and designers.
It all depends on the degree and complexity of the web
site.
